Colin Langley began his career in the London insurance market in 1976 working for an underwriting agency prior to joining Seascope Reinsurance Services two years later. In 1981 Colin left Seascope to join Cameron Richard & Smith Insurance Services (CRS) as a founding member. CRS became a fully accredited Lloyd’s broker in 1986.
With thirty years experience in the area of Brokers’ IBA accounting Colin managed a team of up to 12 colleagues at CRS during the 1990’s when insurance debtor and creditor balances exceeded £100 million. During this period Colin had direct responsibility for credit control, cash management, foreign exchange, investment income and associated management reporting. Following his appointment as a Director of CRS in 2003 he also assumed responsibility for managing the broker back-up team and has subsequently gained a wealth of experience in all aspects of a Lloyd’s brokers back office functions.
CRS went into run-off in October 2007, prior to its acquisition by the Senator group the following month. Colin was subsequently employed by Senator primarily to manage the orderly run-off of CRS and the Senator Group’s IBA accounting function. In April 2008 Colin was invited to join the board of Senator Broker Services Limited the Group’s FCA authorised replacement broking subsidiary.
